There's Still the Matter of the Hubris

You scored 17 Intelligence, 15 Wisdom, and 15 Charisma!

All stats are based on the original D&D system of 3-18. 3 being tragically weak and 18 being olympic level ability. Odds are you will be more towards the middle for most things (the middle being 10-11), as that is where most people should be. If you scored above 18 in any skill, I highly suggest you go back and read the directions loser. Especially if you scored above an 18 intelligence, you need to take the test over and only answer ONCE on the first page. Taken properly, it is not possible to get above an 18 on any stat, unless you' over 70 years old. Get the other half of your stats at this companion test.

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

Objective Acheived

I knew I did it for a reason. Those ads that clutter the top of my blog, those links that incite spammers to attack full force actually have fulfilled their purpose. As I opened my bank statement today, the fruits of my labours (alright, it took ten minutes to set up) have finally been realized. This month, Google.com directly deposited $0.79 into my account, thanks to all those who read. Thank you all for making this possible.

Unfortunately, to make even more, I need to get more people looking at my blog than simply those on campus and random comment spammers, so here's a list of things I'm looking forward to and links to their respective main sites:
Myst V: End of Ages
Shadow of the Colossus
Soul Calibur III
These games make a trifecta of definitive titles I enjoy. Myst, a fully immersive puzzle game. SotC, a game of art and beauty, with an impressive storyline to match. SC3, a fighting game reinvented to once again be the best of the genre.

Yeah, that should generate some more interest . . .

I am a Consumer whore!

Or, more accurately, a corporate whore. You may have noticed that my posts are now slightly lower than they used to was. You see, Blogger has signed a contract with AdSense, a Google construct. I allow Google to put advertisements on my site that are "relevant," and I get paid on a "per click" basis. Basically, I get paid almost nothing to add another line of text to my blog. But I do get paid, so it's worth it.

In other news, for those of you who read this who do not yet know (who either don't know me or have the intelligence of wet cardboard), I'm getting married in December! It is . . . I think the closest word in English is "harrowing," although "exciting" and "frightening" have some of the same connotations. My fianceƩ is incredible and I love her more and more each day, as each day I continue to pray that God changes me so I can love her more perfectly.

But not everything is coming up roses in Longview, TX. Rita is coming, and she is not happy. Even if she does land at category 4, if she follows the actions of Katrina, she will only gain strength when she hits land. From south Texas and Louisiana, she will travel north until reaching Longview. There, she will stop. The rain will pour, the lightning will come, the tide will rise with the storm, and she will not move. For days Rita will be stalled directly above Longview. Pray for us, for our friends, for the families who have been forced to evacuate the path of this storm. I know, without a shadow of a doubt that God is in complete control of this situation, and I know that nothing will happen without Him allowing it to. But I pray that he does not allow such devastation as came with Katrina. God's will be done.

Life's Too Short

Life's too short to be religious
Eternity's too long to be without God
Life's too short to love all people
Eternity's too long to hate even one
Life's too short to appreciate everything
Eternity's too long to pass it all by
Life's too short to praise God as much as he deserves
Eternity is just long enough

I Should be Sleeping . . . (Edit)

. . . But I'm not. Instead, I'm offering to the world a collection of random thoughts that appeared within my head during work last night.
1) There is no longer any reason to but breakfast ceral. Just mix wheat with sugar and pour down your throat
2) The muzac choreographers of Wal-Mart wish to throuroughly instill the belief in an all-powerful "Farmer" and his compatriot "Bingo," a dog.
3) There are only so many times one can listen to "Amazing Grace" played on the bagpipes before one begins inadvertantly emulating a Scotsman.
4) Final Fantasy Awards! III - Best Overall, VII - Best Plot, IX - Best Music, VI - Best Villain (Sorry, Sephy), and X-2 - Best Character Development (Just kidding!)
5) Repetive-Motion Injuries, part of the benifit's plan at Wal-Mart.
Well, that's all I got. Now, it's time for me to sleep. Real post later today.
Addendum) Blind men can fly.
